Karen Howell

Karen is proud to have established the communications function at Hyphen and helped to articulate Hyphen’s vision, mission and values. Prior to Hyphen, she spent 10 years at Atkins as global head of brand which involved leading workshops in their offices around the world and challenging people to think beyond providing engineering services. On a professional level, Karen is motivated by teamwork (ideally face-to-face), bringing people together to collectively solve problems and challenging intelligent people to think about things differently. She is also driven by connecting tactics with the bigger picture. As a person, she strives to help others achieve their potential and make a valuable contribution to people and local community.

Fun fact:
Karen organises the Haslemere Fringe, a not-for-profit, family-friendly festival run entirely by volunteers and taking place every two years on Lion Green in Haslemere, Surrey. Performers at this year’s event included Daniel Bedingfield, Blue, T’Pau, Rebecca Ferguson, Milton Jones, and Paul Sinha.
